Terms of Use — Tidy Pantry

These terms cover your use of Tidy Pantry, an iOS application produced by Halley Software, based in Portugal. By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to these terms.
1. What Tidy Pantry is
Tidy Pantry is an iOS utility that helps you track food items in your home kitchen. It runs on your device, optionally syncs via Apple iCloud (Tidy Pantry Pro), and does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tidy Pantry. You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except as permitted by Portuguese or EU law
- Use automation to abuse features (e.g., mass creation of accounts, artificial inflation of usage)
- Attempt to bypass paywalls or subscription restrictions
3. Subscriptions — Tidy Pantry Pro
Tidy Pantry Pro is an optional paid subscription unlocking barcode scanning, unlimited storage locations, and iCloud sync across your devices.
- Monthly: US $0.99 (includes a 3-day free trial on first subscription)
- Annual: US $9.99
Subscriptions auto-renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can cancel any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Tidy Pantry → Cancel Subscription.
Pricing and availability may vary by region; the price shown in the App Store at purchase is authoritative.
4. Payments and refunds
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Halley Software does not see your payment method, full name, email address, or any financial information — we receive only a signed receipt from Apple indicating your subscription status.
Refund requests go through Apple: https://support.apple.com/HT204084. Refund eligibility is governed by Apple's terms, not by Halley Software.
5. Your content
Everything you enter into Tidy Pantry — items, photos, locations, grocery lists — is yours. It is stored on your device (and, for Pro users with iCloud sync enabled, in your private iCloud container). Halley Software does not access it. See the privacy policy for details.
6. Termination
You may stop using Tidy Pantry at any time by deleting the app and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription through Apple. Halley Software may terminate or suspend service for abuse or violations of these terms, with reasonable notice where practicable.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Tidy Pantry is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. To the extent allowed by law, Halley Software's total liability arising from your use of Tidy Pantry is limited to the amount you paid for subscriptions in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded under Portuguese or EU consumer law (e.g., statutory rights of consumers).
8. Governing law, changes, and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes fall under the competent courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any protective rights you may have under the consumer law of your country of residence.
Changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, a short notice on this page.
