Privacy Policy — Pokédex TV App
Effective date: 2026-06-03 Last updated: 2026-06-03
Pokédex TV App is built by Halley Software. It's an unofficial, fan-made Apple TV app, built so it doesn't need your data to work. This policy explains what the app does — and, mostly, what it doesn't do.
The short version
- Pokédex TV App collects no personal data. None.
- There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party trackers.
- The app works entirely offline. Pokémon data is bundled inside the app, so browsing makes no network requests.
- The only thing the app stores is your Quiz best streak, saved locally on your Apple TV. It never leaves the device.
- The app uses no camera, no photo library, and no iCloud.
- The optional one-time purchase is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
The only thing we store
When you play the Quiz, the app keeps track of your best streak so it can show it back to you. This single value is stored locally on your Apple TV using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults). It is never transmitted anywhere, and we never see it. In Apple's App Store privacy manifest it is declared under the standard "app functionality" reason for reading and writing the app's own on-device settings.
If you delete the app, this value is gone — there is no cloud backup, by design.
Pokémon data
All Pokémon information shown in the app — names, stats, types, abilities, and evolutions — is bundled into the app at build time, sourced from the open PokéAPI project. Because it ships inside the app, browsing the Pokédex makes no network requests and sends nothing about you to us or anyone else.
In-app purchase
Pokédex Premium is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Halley Software receives only a signed receipt from Apple confirming whether the purchase was made. We never see your name, Apple ID, payment method, or any financial information. Apple's privacy policy governs your App Store purchase: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
What we do not do
- We do not collect analytics or usage data.
- We do not use third-party trackers, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not require an account.
- We do not access your camera, photo library, or iCloud.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data — because we don't have any.
Your rights
Because Pokédex TV App collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Under laws like the GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, and CCPA (California) you have rights over personal data a business holds about you — in our case, we hold none. If you have a question about this, email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Pokédex TV App is a general-audience app. It collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. There is no server-side record to remove — deleting the app removes the only thing it ever stores (your local quiz streak).
